Charania Wins His First WSOP Bracelet

Mohsin Charania had to burn the midnight oil in order to beat Cary Katz at the heads-up table to complete the Poker Triple Crown.


The Event #52 of the 2017 WSOP series, $1,500 No-Limit Hold’Em competition was a fiercely contested battle that finally ended with Charania winning his first-ever gold bracelet of his career. With this win, Charania took home the first place prize money of $225,181 as well.

The day 3 of this $1,500 No-Limit hold’Em competition was filled with a lot of thrills and spills. The final day started with 23 players and Charania had to make his way through some tough competition from his opponents to scrape through some levels and avoid getting defeated. The final table was arranged on the main stage and Charania was able to put up an even better performance and make his presence on the big stage.

Mohsin entered the final heads-up battle with Catz with a decent chip advantage. He was aggressive throughout the heads-up play and soon brought Catz down below 1,000,000 chips. Charania was at his dominating self all through the final play and finally secured a win. He made a big roar after beating Catz and seemed very happy and proud of his achievement.

Charania now has total prize money earnings of $5.6 million. This is the fifth time he has won an event. Three of the wins are combined to make him a triple poker crown winner. The main events that he has so far notched in his career are the World Poker Tour, WSOP event and the European Poker Tour. Mohsin Charania is just the sixth player in the history of poker to win the Triple Crown and he is really happy about this achievement.

Charania said that it was a pretty awesome feeling to win a gold bracelet as well as become a Triple Crown winner.
